ROH Newswire
ROH have announced that the first of this weekend shows will be Do or Die Night. On tap for our Pennsylvania fans:
Do or Die: Delirious and Davey Richards vs. Bryan Danielson and Jimmy Rave: One of the hottest feuds of the year re-ignites here with a Do or Die challenge. If Delirious and Richards come out victorious Danielson and Rave will not receive any future ROH World title shots until the belt changes hands. If Danielson and Rave come out victorious they will have guaranteed shots at the belt whenever they choose to use them.
(Note: Roderick Strong also has this privilege after coming out victorious in Trios Tournament at the start of the year.)
Do or Die: Kevin Steen and el Generico vs. Irish Airborne: Both teams have made waves since joining the ROH roster however with the talent pool being so deep here in Ring of Honor there is quite literally no room for the both of them. This match will go a long way in deciding both teams futures, with a win or loss being the determining factor.
Do or Die: Kikutaro vs. Mike Quackenbush vs. Pelle Primeau vs. Erik Stevens vs. Gran Akuma vs. Jigsaw: This match has quite an array of talent, and with that talent they all bring different styles. This should be an interesting match with plenty of hard hitting, high flying action. This match will also have ramifications on all 6 men’s futures as they look to earn full time roster spots here in ring of Honor.
Plus!
The Briscoe’s will be in singles action, B.J Whitmer will square off against Tyler Black and The NEW ROH World Tag Team Champions will defend against The Havana Pitbulls.

Homicide would then go onto say tonight is their night, and by the end of it The Rottweilers will be on top once again.
-El Generico and Kevin Steen performed a Pre-show promo about their Do or die match tonight. They said they worked hard to get here and they’re going to work harder to stay.
Homicide vs. TJ Perkins
Perkins made his first appearance for ROH 2007 here, and afterwards he probably wished he hadn’t. Homicide beat him around ringside, in the ring and in the crowd. The onslaught was nonstop and eventually Cide’ finished him off with an Ace Crusher, Lariat combination.
El Generico and Kevin Steen vs. Irish Airborne
Irish Airborne put up a tremendous fight here fighting for their ROH Roster spots. They were on fire and dominated the bigger Steen as well as Generico. They hit several arm drag variations as well as a set of plancha’s over to “Steenerico” on the floor. Steen and Generico eventually made the comeback, to Irish Airborne’s credit they gave as much as they got however in the end the Package Piledriver / Brainbuster Combination proved too much to handle and “Steenerico” picked up the victory.
Kikutaro vs. Mike Quackenbush vs. Pelle Primeau vs. Erik Stevens vs. Gran Akuma vs. Jigsaw
This match saw many different styles collide, the high flying antics of Jigsaw and Quackenbush wreaked havoc in the opening few minutes with both men clearing the ring before taking to the air once more. They took all of their opponents out on the floor to the delight of the ROH Crowd. The match soon settled down Steven’s power came into play. He dominated almost every man in the match until Kikutaro came in. Channelling Hulk Hogan Kikutaro managed to take the big man of his feet, it didn’t last long though as Erik got straight back up and chassed Kikutaro out of the ring, Akuma would come in and have a nice exchange with Erik Stevens that did not end well for Akuma. Stevens would eventually tire and the Pelle scored a closed near fall over him after a nice head scissors. The match would come down to Quackenbush and Jigsaw as the other four men in the match were taken down by one of their various opponents. Jigsaw attempted the Leap of Faith but Quack held onto the ropes and Jigsaw would find nothing but mat. Quackenbush followed up with a diving Palm Strike off the turnbuckles and the Q.D. 3 for the victory.
-After the match Jigsaw and Quackenbush shook hands, Jiggy helped Quack celebrate his win before all six men shook hands and headed to the back.
Mark Briscoe vs. Claudio Castagnoli
Claudio matches his hard hitting European style with Mark’s smash mouth risk taking technique. Claudio would dominate for vast portions of the match however Briscoe managed to hold his own and kept getting his shoulder up before the three. He would manage to snap Claudio throat first across the rope taking him down, he followed up with the slingshot double stomp before calling for the Cut Throat Driver. Claudio slipped off behind and rolled Mark up for a two count. The match continued and Castagnoli came close to gaining victory with the Alpamare Waterslide, however Briscoe kicked out at two and seven eights. Mark would make one last comeback and hit Claudio with the Saito Suplex which served as a set up for the Shooting Star Press. Claudio manage to get the knees up and Mark hit the mat holding his ribs. Claudio would then hit the Match Killer which earned him the victory.
-After the match Jay came to the ring and helped his brother to his feet, they would then go onto demand a rematch for their ROH World Tag Team Championships.
Intermission
-During Intermission Suzuki and Marvin cut a promo in Japanese, they would however say it was good to be in ROH in English.

ROH World Tag Team Championship Match: Kotaro Suzuki and Ricky Marvin © vs. Havana Pitbulls
Marvin and Suzuki came to impress and it showed in the opening few minutes, they totally dominated Reyes and Romero and Suzuki even came close to hitting the Tiger Feint Kick however Reyes managed to pull his partner out of the way before he could hit it. The match would settle down and The Pitbulls gained control. They worked over Suzuki’s arm and tried to gain the submission victory on several occasions. Marvin would prevent this however his distractions only turned the ref’s attention allowing Reyes and Romero to do more damage. Eventually Suzuki hit a picture perfect dropkick on Romero which allowed him to make the tag. Marvin came in and snapped of a huracanrana or two taking both Pitbulls to the floor. From there he and Suzuki took them out with duel plancha’s the outside. Marvin rolled Reyes back into the ring and picked up a near fall, regaining control for his team in the process. The champions would go onto get several more near falls, including an extremely close one following a shinning wizard from Marvin. The Havana Pitbulls would also get their fair share of two counts, and their work on Suzuki’s arm almost paid off as Romero locked in the Jujigatame, however Marvin was able to break it up before Suzuki tapped out. Eventually the tag champions put their opponents away after a deadly sequence which saw Suzuki connect with a Mist Crush suplex, Marvin with the Santa Maria Slam and finally Suzuki with the 450 Splash.
-After the match Homicide came to the ring, he berated the Havana Pitbulls before slapping both of them. He then would tell them to get to the back only to attack them as soon as their backs where turned. He would go onto hit Romero and Reyes with a steel chair before nailing Reyes with the Lariat and Romero with the Cop Killa. He spat on both before leaving to a chorus of boos and jeers.
Christopher Daniels vs. Jay Briscoe
Daniels and Briscoe had a nice back and forth match here, Daniels lived up to his heel role and used varying illegal manoeuvres to keep control. Jay would fight back with his baby face powers and sent Daniels to the ropes before snapping off a huracanrana, followed by a nice leg lariat. Jay would keep the momentum in his favour from there hitting several signature moves, it wouldn’t be until he attempted the Yakuza kick that Daniels finally found his way back into the match up. He ducked Jay’s kick and Briscoe turned into the Reverse STO, Daniels would go onto apply the Koji Clutch which weakened Jay Briscoe. With the ball firmly in his court Daniels attempted to finish Jay off, his attempt to hit the Angel’s wings did not pan out well for him as Jay was able to escape however Daniels soon re found his footing and hit the Uranage. He would go onto attempt the B.M.E but Jay rolled out of the way, Daniels saw this and managed to land on his feet. He would try to grab Briscoe in an effort to keep control however Jay pulled him down face first into the turnbuckle pad. Briscoe went onto hit the Yakuza Kick, followed by the J-Driller for the three count.
-After the match Matt Cross jumped Jay from behind, The New Prophecy beat Jay Briscoe down until Mark came to the ring and chased them off.
Brent Albright vs. Mitch Franklin
Franklin didn’t stand a chance and was violently dismantled within minutes. Albright mercifully finished him off after hanging him up across and hitting the Half Nelson Suplex.
-After the “Match” BJ Whitmer charged to the ring and attacked Albright, they brawled around ringside until Lacey and Tyler Black made their way out, the numbers game caught up to Whitmer and Jacobs was not in the building to come to his aid.
BJ Whitmer vs. Tyler Black w/Lacey
The bell rang and the brawl continued. Black would hit BJ with a steel chair several times before running to the ropes, Whitmer showed his fighting spirit and nailed Black with an overhead Belly to Belly as soon as he had rebounded. Black got to his feet and got hit with an Exploder Suplex which got BJ a two count. A bloody Whitmer was furious now and headed to the floor where he pulled out a table, he set it up on the floor but Black attacked before he could use it. Black would nail Whitmer, who was still on the ring apron, repeatedly and BJ came very close to falling backwards to the table he himself had set up. Tyler would eventually spring off the turnbuckles and dropkick BJ off the apron however he just managed to avoid the table. They continued to brawl on the floor and here Whitmer regained control whipping Black into the guard rail. It would not last long as Lacey caused the distraction allowing Black to low blow Whitmer and swing the momentum back in his favour. Black would follow up with a very impressive move that saw him kick off the ring post before hitting the moonsault on Whitmer. Black was unable to pick up the victory on that occasion but it seemed irrelevant as these two men continued to mutilate each other. Both men we’re battered and beaten and by now both were wearing the proverbial crimson mask. Tyler would set Whitmer up on the turnbuckles and looked to hit a Frankensteiner however Whitmer managed to prevent it. He would recover on the ropes before grabbing Black and nailing the Exploder Suplex from the top turnbuckle to the table set up on the floor. Whitmer rolled Black back into the ring and picked up the three count to Lacey’s fury.
Delirious and Davey Richards vs. Bryan Danielson and Jimmy Rave
Delirious and Richards have had their fair share of problems in recent months however they teamed well here. After a few minutes of miscommunication they got their act together and managed to hold of Rave and Danielson. Eventually the ROH World Champ Delirious became isolated and worked over by the Unstoppable pairing of Rave and American Dragon. They worked over Delirious’ arm and prevented him from making the tag, however eventually he would do just that after hitting a leaping lariat on Danielson. Richards exploded and took firm control for his teams with a series of kicks including the handspring variation which he hit on an unsuspecting Jimmy Rave. Despite his eagerness Richards would eventually burn out and Danielson capitalised. He would go onto lock in the Cattle Mutilation but Delirious broke it up with a Back Senton. From there the match broke down even further, Danielson and Delirious brawled on the floor as Rave and Richards took the fight to one another inside the ring. Rave appeared to gave the match in hand after nailing the Ghanarhea but Richards kicked out. Rave called for the Pedigree and set Richards up for it. Davey however managed to escape and took Rave down. Richards then rolled Rave onto his stomach and applied the 14:59 which Rave would eventually tap out to.
Homicide held the ROH world title until Weekend of Champions Night 2 ploughing through any opponent that got in his way, he would eventually lose the title to Delirious who, with the help of Davey Richards had picked up a lot of steam going into the championship match.
After Delirious successfully gained the belt he would go onto defend it against nemeses Bryan Danielson and Jimmy Rave. Davey Richard’s jealousy would grow however he kept quiet and his friendship with Delirious remained, even after his jealously reached boiling point when Delirious pinned him in a four way match for the belt.
ROH have gone to Japan and Delirious fended off KENTA in a one hour long classic as well as Dragon Gate star CIMA the following night. Who is next for Delirious?
Also in Japan Kotaro Suzuki and Ricky Marvin wrestled the ROH World Tag Team belts away from the Briscoe’s who had dominated the tag team division most of the year taking on such teams as Daniels and Sydal, The King’s of Wrestling, Chris Sabin and Sonjay Dutt Adam Peace and Shane Hagaodrn as well as Colt Cabana and BJ Whitmer.
The Briscoe’s must re-affirm their place in the ROH Tag Team Division, starting with Christopher Daniel’s New Prophecy. Meanwhile Suzuki and Marvin take all challenges for their ROH Tag Championships.
Reunited, BJ Whitmer and Jimmy Jacobs fight against Lacey’s Angeles. Jacobs was thrown out of the Angles after a hellacious losing streak, since then the weapons have been flying and the blood has been flowing as these two teams try to take the other out for good. And Lacey is behind it all.
Homicide and his Rottweilers cannot get a break, they cannot seem to recapture gold in ROH and their frustration mounts. Homicide vows to take it out on ROH and its fans, and he’ll use Reyes and Romero to do it, or will?
