I'll try to make this thread the ULTIMATE resource for any microers, so if you want anything added please dont hesitate to ask.

Help and Tips:
Shading
To shade realistically, use photos and pictures as a reference. Dont use big block shading, dont do unrealistic straight lines. Try to copy a real photos details. eg. shade darker where its darker on the pictures, add light spots where its lighter.
Shading is extremely hard to master, but if you keep trying to make it look real, you will get the hang of it and eventually become great, hopefully.
Shaping
Shaping is something alot of people have trouble with this, including me at times. Shaping is something extremely hard to master. You have to make pants curve at the right angle, make them have creases in and out and make the shaping smooth.
Use pictures and attempt to make them go as wide as they are in the photo, crease them right, etc.
Heads
Heads are, to alot of people, the hardest part of a micro. It is hard to get a good resemblence to people, but if you put enough time and effort (and common sense).
eg. Modify the shape of the head, the eye colour and most importantly the shading until it resembles the character as much as possible.
Designs
Alot of people ask me how to do designs well. They can be hard and frustrating at times, but if you make them smooth and make them flow, then they'll add alot to your micro. Make the outlines flow, remember to shade the designs as well.
Resource Pictures
Probably one of the most important things in the steps to becoming a great microer. Reference pictures are vital to make the micro accurate and looking great.

www.obsessedwithwrestling.com
Online World Of Wrestling is the greatest, in my opinion for reference pictures and I recommend it for anyone.
Templates
Templates are very important, and its vital that you pick/make one similar to your ability. No use using a very detailed template, then make basic clothes as alot of people do.

www.foxgnaws.com/
Theres some sites with templates on them, but I wouldnt use them if you want to become really good.
