Raw opened with acting general manager, Jonathan Coachman standing in the ring, with a microphone in hand. Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler welcomed us to the show as Coach began to address the sell-out Raw crowd. Coach said that both Randy Orton and John Cena have made their choices for who the other is going to face here tonight. He went onto say that Randy Orton will be going up against former mentor and friend, Triple H. Whilst John Cena will be in action against ECW superstar, Big Daddy V. Cena gave it his all in this match, hitting Big Daddy V with everything he had, including a backsuplex of mamoth proportions. Cena had hit the 5 Knuckle Shuffle and was stalking for the FU, when his opponent at No Mercy, Randy Orton made his way down out from the back and taunted Cena from ringside. Cena however, got his focus back and nailed Big Daddy V with a thunderous FU, after ducking down under a clothesline attempt.
Winner: John Cena
After the match, Randy Orton entered the ring and nailed an un-suspecting Cena with an RKO. Orton then posed above Cena and held the WWE Championship in the air as the crowd boo'd loudly.

Marella says that Elias has been chosen as the official for his No Mercy match against Ron Simmons and that tonight, he gets a warm-up match, a chance to be in the ring with "The amazing" Santino Marella. Elias forces a smile and begins to walk away as Maria approaches. Maria says that at No Mercy, she doesn't want to be at ringside, Santino doesn't take kindly to this and tells Maria, that tonight, he will win his match and dedicate it to her, and hopefully THAT is enough to get her to come to ringside and support "The amazing" Santino Marella.

Vince McMahon is seen sitting in his office, talking on the phone. "Shane! Shane I didn't know this wa... No, I don't want him in the fa... Shane, listen to me sh..." he puts the phone down and stands up, fixing his tie. Pretending he is total control of the situation. Coachman enters. Coachman says that Hornswoggle is here tonight, McMahon interupts and says he knows Hornswoggle is here tonight; because HE invited him to be here tonight, not to play "happy families" but for a very important that will be revealed later tonight on Raw.

Phoenix continued to block the right hands as Coach came out onto the ramp. Coach told everybody in the ring to stop what they're doing and save it for No Mercy, because on PPV, Candice Michelle will be defending the WWE Women's Championship in a Fatal-Four-Way match against Mickie James, Melina and BETH PHOENIX. Hardy hit Daivari with a clothesline, knocking him down to the mat below and followed up with an impactive Twist of Fate. Instead of helping his partner, Benjamin jumped down from the apron and took a microphone AND the Intercontinental Championship belt from ringside.
Winners: Jeff Hardy and Cody Rhodes
After the match, Shelton Benjamin said that tonight, he wasn't pinned. So technically he didn't lose. He then said that at No Mercy, he wants a match for the Intercontinental Championship. Jeff Hardy took a microphone from a guy at ringside and said that if Benjamin wants a match, he can have one, but it would have to be on his terms. Benjamin said he would do anything to get a chance at the Intercontinental Championship belt. Jeff Hardy smiled as the crowd cheered. "Tables... Ladders and Chairs" said Hardy, dropping the mic and rolling under the bottom rope. Hardy ran at Benjamin and ducked under a clothesline, then hitting him with one of his own. Hardy retrieved his Intercontinental Championship belt and made his way up the ramp, posing for fans in the arena.

Vince McMahon made his way down to the ring with a microphone in hand. The crowd boo'd loudly as McMahon began to speak. He said that the news of Hornswoggle being his son, means that something HUGE is about to happen for the little superstar, he then asks Hornswoggle to come down to the ring, his music hits and he comes from under the apron and makes his way into the ring. McMahon says that Hornswoggle should be pretty happy, NOT only is he is son, but he is now officially a Raw superstar. Hornswoggle looked excited as the crowd cheered, but McMahon wasn't finished. McMahon said that due to him being a Raw superstar, he won't be able to defend his Cruiserweight Championship on Smackdown. So he is hereby STRIPPED of the Cruiserweight Championship. The crowd boo'd loudly as McMahon snatched the Championship belt from his illegitimate child. McMahon then made his way up the ramp as "you suck" chants began. Hornswoggle stood in the ring with his arms outstretched, looking on at McMahon, who seemingly ignored his son... and former Cruiserweight Champion.

Marella said that not only would he BEAT Simmons, he would end his career and the only thing he'd be saying from then on is "DAMN-AH!" at the fact he has bowed to the greatness that is "The Amazing" Santino Marella.

Backstage, Jonathan Coachman is seen approaching Vince McMahon. Coachman said that what McMahon did to Hornswoggle was "genius" and that it should finally allow him to understand that he isn't wanted. Vince McMahon then made his way to his limosine as Coachman turned to re-enter the arena. As he did, Hornswoggle appeared and closed the door into the arena and locked it from the inside. Coach kicked and pushed at the door as Hornswoggle pulled from his pocket what looks to be a personal planner. He then begins to fiddle as the camera fades out.

With Jonathan Coachman seemingly locked out of the arena. All hell broke lose in this match (Which didn't even officially begin) before the bell could be rung, John Cena ran down to the ring in a rage and began to attack Randy Orton. John Cena went to hit Randy Orton with an FU, but got his eyes raked. Orton then rolled under the bottom rope, quickly followed by Carlito. Both men made their way up the ramp as Cena and Triple H stood in the ring. As they did, Hornswoggles music hit and the leprechaun and illigitimate child made his way out onto the ramp, holding Coachmans personal planner in hand.
